Surprisingly tender and flavorful chicken wings that are boiled before finishing, creating juicy meat that falls off the bone.

🥬 Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 kg (2.2 lbs) chicken wings
  • enough to cover wings water
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika

For Finishing

  • 30g (2 tbsp) butter
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) hot sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Place chicken wings in a large pot and cover completely with cold water. Add salt and bring to a rolling boil over high heat.
  2. Reduce heat to medium-high and boil wings for 20-25 minutes until meat is tender and easily pulls away from the bone. Skim any foam that rises to the surface.
  3. Drain wings thoroughly and pat completely dry with paper towels. Season immediately with black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika while still warm.
  4. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add butter. Once melted and foaming, add wings and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Add hot sauce and honey to the pan, tossing wings to coat evenly. Cook for 1-2 minutes until sauce is glossy and wings are well coated.

💡 Tips & Variations

  • Pat wings completely dry after boiling to ensure proper browning in the skillet
  • You can substitute the hot sauce and honey with your favorite wing sauce
  • For extra crispy skin, place seared wings under the broiler for 2-3 minutes
